My Process
Since I was a kid, I’ve always able to pick out individual instruments in the songs I was listening to. I heard the bass when everyone else heard the melody. I heard the strings in the background when everyone was singing the lyrics.
There are mornings that I wake up with a beat in my head. Or I’m going through the day, silently beatboxing a rhythm until I can get back to my house and bring the pieces together.
I find my current inspiration through DJs like Alan Walker and Marshmello, have Patrick Carney’s drum beats rolling through my head, and grew up breathing Pete Rock and J Dilla’s music.
